These categories describe where the interface seals; they do not establish which mask a particular person will tolerate or which size will fit their face.
Use each model’s own sizing guide and instructions. Compare cushion shape, headgear adjustment, tube position, vent arrangement and the parts supplied in the box. A replacement cushion is not a complete mask, and a size label from one design should not be carried over to another without checking. The prescribed device and interface must work together.
This review compares documented designs, not clinical performance or comfort scores from testing. If leaks, eye irritation or skin injury persist, ask the provider to reassess the fit rather than repeatedly tightening the straps. Keep vents unobstructed and include cleaning, replacement parts and the seller’s fitting or return policy in the purchase decision.
